Yogasanas
The word asana literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can assume, 84 have been identified as Yogasanas, through which one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate well-being. By consciously forming the body into a certain posture, one creates a conducive passage for energy flow that can elevate one’s consciousness. Yogasanas are a way of aligning the inner system and adjusting it to the celestial geometry, becoming in sync with the existence, thus naturally achieving a state of health, joy, bliss and above all balance.
- Relief of chronic health conditions
- Evolution of body and mind towards a higher possibility
- Stabilization of the body, mind and energy system
- Deceleration of the aging process
Patanjali · Yoga Sutra II.46
Be still
A dark pool fills the screen. Moving the pointer, scrolling or touching disturbs its surface; keeping still lets it settle and clear, and the words Sthira Sukham Asanam appear at the bottom of the water, with their meaning: steady, comfortable, the posture.
Patanjali defines the posture in three words. Sthira: steady, stable, firm, strong. Sukham: comfortable, easy, relaxed, with space in it. Āsanam: the posture, the seat. An asana is therefore not a pose but a state of body and mind — firm and at ease at the same time, effort balanced by release, fully present. Held that way, the body’s restlessness subsides, the nerves settle, and attention is free to turn inward. Be still, and see.

★★★★★I've had such a lovely experience practising with Persis at Yoga Quest. I joined her early morning classes and learned Yogasanas, Surya Kriya and Bhuta Shuddhi under her guidance. As an Isha-certified instructor, she teaches the practices with so much care and respect, but what made the experience especially meaningful for me was Persis herself. She is incredibly warm, patient and genuinely caring. She was always there to guide me when I needed help with my practices, and she also took the time to listen and support me on a more personal level. I genuinely loved going to her 5:30am sessions. No matter how early it was, I would always leave feeling lighter, calmer and so glad I had gone. My time practising with Persis was something I really enjoyed and looked forward to. I have a lot of respect and affection for her and would wholeheartedly recommend Yoga Quest. ❤️

★★★★★I've had a wonderful experience learning Hatha Yoga from Persis. Trained under Isha and Sadhguru, she brings a deep, authentic understanding to every session. She's incredibly patient, polite, and always accommodating with timings, making it easy to stay consistent. I've practiced Yogasana, Isha Kriya, and Upu Yoga with her, and each one has been incredibly beneficial for both my body and mind. The variety of practices she teaches ensures there's something for everyone, and I'm excited to continue exploring more. The course fees are very reasonable for the quality of instruction and personal attention. If you're looking for a genuine and transformative yoga experience, I highly recommend learning from Persis.

★★★★★Persis Mam is a wonderful yoga trainer. She had undergone a highly intensive 150-day Hatha yoga training from the Isha Foundation, and I got an opportunity to learn yoga in its most genuine form with her. Persis Akka is very warm and friendly. I have learnt Angamardana, Yogasana, Surya Kriya and Surya Shakti from her. If you're in Dubai, I will definitely recommend not to miss this opportunity.

★★★★★I recently attended a Yogasanas class in DSO, and it was an incredibly refreshing and enriching experience. Persis' knowledge and passion for yoga were evident throughout the session, creating an atmosphere that was both calming and motivating. Each asana was explained in detail, focusing on correct alignment and breathing techniques, which helped deepen my practice. The class was well-structured, with a great balance between warm-up, asanas, and relaxation. The peaceful ambiance and specialised Sadhguru videos added a special touch, making it easy to fully immerse myself in the practice. I left the class feeling rejuvenated, balanced, and looking forward to the next session. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their physical and mental well-being!
